Lifestyles Director – Create Joy, Connection, and Community at The Mayflower
Are you a natural connector who loves to bring people together? Do you thrive in an environment where every day is different, full of opportunities to create experiences that spark joy, inspire wellness, and build community? If so, we’d love to meet you.
At The Mayflower, we believe life should be full of purpose, laughter, and meaningful moments—at every stage. That’s where you come in. As our Lifestyles Director, you’ll be the heartbeat of our community, designing and leading programs that are vibrant, engaging, and centered on the unique interests of our residents. From cultural outings and lifelong learning workshops to social gatherings, fitness classes, and holiday celebrations, your role is to make sure there’s always something to look forward to.
What You’ll Do
- Create and coordinate dynamic programs that reflect the passions and interests of our residents.
- Lead a talented team across Activities, Concierge, Wellness, and Transportation.
- Inspire and organize volunteers to share their time and talents.
- Develop activity calendars residents can’t wait to check each month.
- Build strong relationships with residents and their families to ensure everyone feels supported and engaged.
- Infuse energy and creativity into community celebrations year-round.
- Jump in wherever you’re needed—because teamwork makes the magic happen.
What We’re Looking For
- Someone with genuine joy in working with older adults and a deep respect for their life experiences.
- A people-person with a “How can I help?” attitude and natural relationship-building skills.
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where flexibility is key.
- A creative communicator who can inspire, persuade, and lead with positivity.
- A hands-on leader who leads by example and isn’t afraid to pitch in alongside their team.
What You’ll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Health & Wellness, Recreational Therapy, Recreational Sciences—or equivalent experience.
- CTRS certification and/or CDL license? Even better.
- At least 3 years of experience designing and delivering programming for seniors.
- 2+ years of leadership experience managing staff or volunteers.
- Strong organizational skills (you’re great at juggling multiple projects and deadlines).
- Comfort with technology—MS Office proficiency required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays—because life (and fun) doesn’t only happen 9–5.
