Westminster Communities of Florida is hiring for an Executive Director of Housing. This position is located in Orlando, FL, and reports to the Sr. Vice President of Operations.
In this role, the Executive Director of Housing will oversee and support the organizations’ Rental Retirement Communities (RRC) This includes oversight for day to day operations and financial management, building maintenance audits, REAC inspections and reviews, resident relations, and staff supervision. This position will also ensure compliance with requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
This position is responsible for:
- On-site visitation of RRCs for purposes of support, oversight, inspection, and compliance review including meeting all applicable codes and laws with regard to health and safety. Holds RRC administrator accountable for day-to-day operations responsibilities.
- Scheduling and completing tasks related to HUD/ FHFC compliance. Keeping up to date with current information relating to HUD/ FHFC regulations.
- Supporting administrators in admissions and discharges following RRC standards and guidelines.
- Monitoring budget compliance and recommends appropriate actions for better efficiencies.
- Assisting administrators with marketing efforts to maintain or increase occupancy.
- Assisting administrators with the bidding of vendor contracts in accordance with HUD and WCoF requirements and with monitoring work projects.
- Assisting administrators with property evaluation and projected capital needs.
- Disseminating information to RRCs with regard to Westminster’s standards and guidelines, personnel policies, HUD/ FHFC compliance and property management.
- Providing support and direction to administrators for staff supervision, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action.
- Acting as liaison with residents as needed to resolve issues or concerns.
- Providing back-up support on a 24-hour basis for staff at assigned RRCs during an administrator’s absence (vacation/leave).
- Acting as RRC interim administrator for a vacant position.
- Participating in continuing education, in-services, training and required meetings.
- Providing and maintaining a record compliance, retention, and reporting system for official documents in accordance with Low Income Housing Tax Credit requirements at applicable Rental Retirement Communities.
Requirements
Qualifications we are seeking:
- Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in social service, management, or related field.
- Five (5) years property management and experience with senior adults and subsidized housing preferred.
- Prior experience and knowledge of tax credit and grant programs preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively, foster collaboration, and build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management to support strategic decision-making.
- Committed to delivering exceptional service and resolving challenges with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to identify opportunities and implement initiatives that enhance operational excellence.
